Ashland in Europe operates manufacturing plants, sales offices and distribution facilities in 20 countries for our Performance Materials (Casting Solutions, Composite Polymers and Specialty Polymers & Adhesives), Water Technologies, Plastics Distribution, and Valvoline motor oil businesses. Administrative and operational support in Europe is provided by European Shared Business Services (ESBS) in Barendrecht (Rotterdam), The Netherlands.
Position
At the ESBS a group of some 10 VAT persons handle all VAT (compliance) for EMEA. A new vacancy has arisen for an EMEA VAT Manager who will lead the above group while directly reporting to the Manager Financial Services. Your activities and responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and coordinating the VAT compliance function for Ashland' European operations (110 VAT registrations). This will require working closely with Accounting, Supply Chain and Business partners as well as working directly with personnel from VAT jurisdictions.
- Ensuring external filing deadlines and payment due dates are met.
- Coordinating VAT audits. This will require working directly with VAT inspectors from the taxing jurisdictions.
- Reviewing the internal VAT procedures to optimize the existing process.
- Supervising, developing and training VAT personnel (10 employees).
- Serving as the main contact for external and internal VAT questions.
