Position
In the Corporate Finance and Tax department in Leiden, a new VAT Manager position has arisen. The VAT Manager will report to the Group Indirect Tax Manager. The Indirect Tax team in Leiden currently consists of 2 persons. The functional Indirect Tax team furthermore includes specialists located in Switzerland and Germany. Customs duties are handled outside the Indirect Tax Team.
The VAT Manager will support the IKEA Group of companies in complying with the applicable indirect tax regulations in an optimal way. More specifically the tasks and responsibilities include:
- Acting as an indirect tax point of contact for a number of countries
- Supporting/coordinating indirect tax audits
- Creating and maintaining indirect tax awareness throughout the group
- Developing routines and monitoring compliance with them
- Detecting areas for systems improvement and suggesting/supporting solutions
- Conducting internal indirect tax reviews
- Providing indirect tax relevant information to management
- Supporting the further development of the indirect tax strategy
- Liaising with tax authorities and tax advisors
- Giving presentations and providing training
- Providing M&A and non-core investments support
- Providing indirect tax relevant project support
Candidate
The ideal candidate has a university degree in tax and some 5-8 years of experience in international VAT, preferably gained at a big 4, international law firm or in industry. You have excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Furthermore, a hands-on mentality is required and you should be both a team-player and a self-starter. Fluency in English is required; any additional foreign language is a plus. International travelling is required.
